The most tangible output of the workshop will be a summary document that reports the results of the meeting. It will be a summary of workshop results that will be useful in developing future work for improving the Science and Technology of Environmental Security in Drylands The document will be organized in the following fashion:

  1. Introduction.

  2. Clear articulation of the drylands environmental security issues.

  3. Scientific information base required to achieve significant improvements in long-term environmental security in drylands.

  4. Levels of political commitment required and other methods needed to improve environmental security in drylands.
  5. Criteria for accessing and strategy for establishing both short-term and long-term drylands environmental security projects.
  6. Action Items.
  7. Conclusions/lessons learned.
